Registration & Sign‑In Protocol
- Visitors must purchase an access card and book facilities online. Special Needs Cardholders who hold a valid European Disability Card (EDC) are entitled to a complimentary GISAP Access Card. EDC cardholders may be accompanied by one (1) adult when using GISAP facilities, and this person shall be granted access free of charge when accompanying the cardholder. European Disability Card (EDC) holders may send a scanned copy of their EDC to [email protected] to receive their complimentary GISAP Access Card.
- A government‑issued photo ID is required; details are recorded in the Visitor Log in compliance with GDPR.
- Visitors will agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to reserving a facility and provide an emergency contact number.
- All visitors using the facilities must have a valid QR code/digital Access Card and a QR code for the specific booking. Attendance by spectators is permitted for designated events that are open to the public, provided seating capacity allows. Admitted spectators will be issued a colour coded wristband for identification.

Facility Age Restriction Conditions All Facilities Under 16 years Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or personal trainer/coach at all times (ratio: 1 adult per 6 minors). All Facilities Under 12 years Minors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian upon entry and also upon exit from GISAP. Parents or guardians accompanying minors under 12 must ensure that the minor meets their designated coach immediately upon entry. All coaches are responsible for ensuring that minors under 12 are handed back to their parent or legal guardian upon exit. Olympic Pool Under 12 years Must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Olympic Pool Under 5 years Must be actively supervised by a professional/certified coach to make use of the pool. Gymnastics Hall Under 16 years Must be actively supervised by a professional/certified coach to make use of the Gymnastics Hall. Fitness Gym Minimum 10 years If under 16 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or personal trainer at all times (ratio: 1 adult per 6 minors). Sauna Minimum 16 years If under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Users should be in good health, remain well hydrated, and limit sessions to 10–15 minutes. Steam Room Minimum 16 years If under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Users should be in good health, remain well hydrated, and limit sessions to 10–15 minutes. Ice Room / Cold Therapy Room Minimum 16 years If under 18 years of age, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Users should be in good health. Exposure should be limited to short periods (typically 1–5 minutes) and only after understanding the associated risks. - Entry and Exit Requirements: Minors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian upon entry and also upon exit from GISAP. Access Hours
- Entry is allowed up to one hour and 45 minutes before closing time. For the Outdoor Padel Court, Squash Courts and the Wellness Area, entry is allowed up to one hour before closing time.

Disclaimer, Liability Waiver and Indemnification
- By entering and using the facilities of the Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion, each visitor acknowledges and agrees to the below clauses.
- The Government of Malta and/or the Ministry of Gozo together with any entity, operator, contractor, manager, or individual engaged in the operation, management, or administration of GISAP (collectively the “Operators”)shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage, or harm suffered by visitors while on the premises, except to the extent that such liability cannot be lawfully excluded under Maltese law. For the purposes of this clause, parents, legal guardians, and coaches remain fully and exclusively responsible for the supervision, conduct, and safety of minors in their care while on the premises and compliance with the entry and exit requirements applicable to minors and any other supervision obligations imposed by these Terms & Conditions, as may be amended from time to time. Failure by a parent, guardian, or coach to comply with these supervision requirements does not create any liability for the Government of Malta, the Ministry for Gozo, or the Operators.
- All individuals using the facilities do so at their own risk. You are responsible for your personal belongings, health, safety, and conduct while on the premises. Users are also required to bring their own personal towel when using the facilities, in line with hygiene and safety standards.
- Liability for Damages: You are fully liable for any damage, whether accidental or intentional, caused to the facility, equipment, or any other property during your session. This includes damage caused by misuse or failure to follow staff instructions or posted guidelines.
- Assumption of Risk: Participation in sports, fitness, and recreational activities involves inherent risks. By using the facility, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with these activities, including potential injury.
- Please note that use of the sauna, steam room, and cold room is entirely at your own risk. Users are responsible for their own safety and should ensure they are medically fit to use these amenities. The facility will not be liable for any injury, illness, or loss arising from the use of the wellness area.
- Indemnification: All users including parents, legal guardians, and coaches of minors, agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Government of Malta and/or the Ministry for Gozo together with the “Operators”, from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
● their actions, conduct, or negligence;
● the supervision or lack of supervision of any minor in their care, including noncompliance with the entry and exit requirements applicable to minors and any other supervision obligations set out in these Terms & Conditions, as may be amended from time to time;
● failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions, as may be amended from time to time;
● any breach of duty by a parent, guardian, or coach in relation to a minor under their care.This indemnity applies to all activities within GISAP, including but not limited to the use of all facilities, training sessions, classes, events, and general circulation within the premises.

Olympic Pool Usage Disclaimer
- All attendees and users of the Olympic swimming pool at the Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion are required to acknowledge and adhere to the following clauses.
- To safeguard the highest levels of hygiene and safety, all swimmers and spectators must follow these rules:
- Pre-entry hygiene: Shower with soap and change in the changing rooms before entering the pool area.
- Approved attire only: Proper swimwear is required (no cotton/streetwear). Swim caps are required in the pool.
- Footwear: Wear clean pool-only flip-flops/sliders in wet areas; no outdoor shoes on poolside.
- Health & safety: Do not swim if you feel unwell, have open wounds, or a contagious condition. No running, pushing, or unsafe behaviour.
- The age restrictions applicable to the Olympic Pool are set out in Clause 1.5.
- Lane etiquette: Keep right, pause at lane ends if resting, and let faster swimmers pass at the wall.
- Equipment & belongings: Use equipment as instructed; no glass on poolside; keep valuables secure.
- Food & drink: Water in plastic bottles only—no food, gum, or glass in wet areas.
- Photography: For privacy, no photography or video on poolside without prior permission.
- Respect & instructions: Always follow lifeguard/staff directions.
- Visitors must vacate the water 10 minutes before session end to allow turnover and water quality checks.
- GISAP reserves the right to cap visitor numbers at 60 simultaneous swimmers in line with ISO 20121 crowd density guidelines.
- Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion provides lifeguard services free of charge during GISAP opening hours.
- Assumption of Risk: All users understand and accept the risks associated with swimming and water activities. Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion is not liable for any injuries, incidents, or accidents.
- By booking and using the Olympic pool, each visitor agrees to comply fully with this policy and assume all related responsibilities and liabilities.

Non-Marking Footwear Requirement
- To protect the parquet flooring in the Main Hall and Squash Courts and to ensure these areas remain in optimal condition for all users, only non-marking sports footwear is permitted in these zones.
- Visitors, students, athletes, and group participants must ensure that their footwear:
- Has non-marking soles
- Does not leave scuff marks or black streaks
- Is clean and free from debris before entering the playing surface
- Is used exclusively for indoor sports (no outdoor shoes allowed)
- Users who do not comply with this requirement may be asked to change their footwear before entering the area.
- We kindly ask all coaches, teachers, and group leaders to check and confirm that participants are wearing appropriate footwear prior to entering the facility.
- This measure helps us maintain the high standard of the facility and ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

Wellness Area Usage Disclaimer
- To safeguard the highest levels of hygiene and safety, all users must comply with the following rules:
- Pre-entry hygiene: Users must shower with soap and use the designated changing rooms before entering the Wellness Area
- Mandatory use of towels: The use of personal towels is compulsory within the Wellness Area.
- Food and drink: Only water in plastic bottles is permitted. Food, other beverages, chewing gum, and glass containers are strictly prohibited.
- The age restrictions applicable to the Wellness Area are set out in Clause 1.5

Bookings Disclaimer
- The management of the Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion reserves the right to amend or cancel any bookings under the following conditions.
- Priority Bookings: In the event that certain activities are deemed of high importance by the management team, such reservations will take precedence over existing bookings.
- Booking Cancellation: Any existing reservation may be rescheduled or cancelled to accommodate priority bookings. While every effort will be made to provide advance notice and offer alternative arrangements, the Pavilion reserves the right to make such changes at its discretion.
- No Liability for Changes: The Pavilion is not liable for any inconvenience, cost, or loss incurred due to changes or cancellations resulting from priority bookings.
- All cancellation requests must be submitted at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled reservation time . Users with Prepaid Packages may cancel their reservations directly via the GISAP website, with the corresponding amount automatically re-credited to their Prepaid Package.
- Requests made within 2 hours of the reservation time will generally not be accepted. However, in exceptional circumstances beyond the user’s control (such as unforeseen disruptions), GISAP may, at its discretion, accommodate cancellation or modification requests.
- By making a booking, attendees acknowledge and accept this condition as part of the facility’s terms of use.

Conduct & Safety Terms
- Any breach of rules may result in immediate ejection without refund and/or a temporary ban of up to 30 days.
- Enforcement Notice Protocol. Incident logged will be sent via email.

Right to Contest Disciplinary Action
- Any Member or Visitor who receives an ejection, booking penalty or temporary ban may lodge an appeal within 5 working days via the GISAP App or reception kiosk.
- Appeals Panel Composition. The panel comprises the Centre Manager (chair), the Duty Manager not involved in the incident, and a Ministry observer.
- Evidence & Timeline. CCTV footage, access-control logs and written statements are reviewed; a decision is issued within 7 calendar days and communicated by e-mail.
Possible Outcomes:- Penalty upheld.
- Penalty reduced/overturned.
- Incident escalated to Ministry Legal Office if severe.
- Final Escalation. Where a user disputes the panel’s decision, a second-level review may be requested to the Ministry’s Sports Appeals Board (decision within 14 days, binding).
